Marples Gears stays current with the latest equipment available. A new CNC lathe and milling center along with a Daewoo 2000SY six-axis CNC turning center with live milling arrived on the floor, identical to our very first Daewoo 2000SY lathe, but a year newer. It has a 20 hp main spindle with 2-5/8 diameter capacity thru the spindle, and a 10 hp fully-programmable sub spindle.
The 2000SY sports a 12 station, live milling turret, with a 7 hp, 5000 rpm live milling motor. The machine has two C axis, one on each spindle, and a +/- two inch Y axis on the turret, making off-center machining possible. This machine is also equipped with a polygon turning, and cylindrical interpolation software options from FANUC, making gear machining on the machine possible with our special Italian made gear hobbing attachment.
Another recent addition is a Daewoo 3016L milling center. It is a three-axis vertical mill, which will off-load work from our four-axis machine, opening up more time for four-axis work on that machine. It has a 15 hp 8000 rpm spindle, and an arm type tool changer for very quick tool changes. The 1300 pound max load table is large enough that we can fit (3) six-inch steel vises on the table at all times with plenty of room to spare.
Marples gears also recently acquired a large Sonic Systems Ultrasonic Parts Cleaning machine, equipped with a large 12 transducer wash bath, two rinses, and a dryer.
