CNC Machining

Marples Gears is advancing with the technologies of today's modern CNC machining equipment.  In the last four years, Marples has spent nearly half a million dollars and invested in four new CNC machining centers to further provide our customers with the highest quality parts along with faster lead times.

Marples CNC turning department consists of four CNC Lathes.  Two are Daewoo 2000SY's, a larger six-axis lathe.  The machine has a fully programmable sub-spindle, with 12 stations of live milling and a Y-axis.  The Daewoo 2000SY lathes will even produce AGMA class 10 gears.  The machines are very accurate, and have repeatability within .0001 of an inch on diameter.

Our Miyano live tool lathe, a BND-42c5, is also an extremely accurate piece, and it too is accurate to less than .0001 inch diameter.  This machine has six stations of live milling and a programmable tailstock.  It is an excellent machine for small parts.

Our other lathe is a Miyano BNC-42c3.  It is a smaller two-axis machine, also excellent for small parts.

Marples CNC milling department includes two 8000 RPM Daewoo 3016 vertical mills and a Kira Horizontal milling center.  The Daewoo 3016L and Daewoo 3016D are exceptionally accurate mills, able to hold true positions to less than .0005 inches.

Our Daewoo 3016L Is a linear guide machine, with rapid traverse rates over 1000 inches per minute.  It has an arm type tool changer, with cut-to-cut tool change times of about four seconds, and a tool carousal that holds 30 tools.

The Daewoo 3016D is a box way machine, and has a full fourth axis and a 20-tool umbrella type tool changer.  Our Kira Horizontal is an 8000 RPM machine, with a fourth axis indexing tombstone.  It also has a 20-tool capacity.
